HUNTLY AGREEMENT
STRINGENT PROVISION. AUCKLAND, December 23. The agreement entered into between tho Taupiri Company and the Huntly miners provides that tho union under, takes not to cancel registration under the Arbitration Act. The union shall expel any member who becomes connected with the Federation of Labohf or any similar body: in default tho committee may dismiss, him without notice. Provision is made for a fortnight’s notice on either'side, but employees may bo instantly dismissed for inciting workers to disregard the provisions of any clause in tho agreement or the Industrial Arbitration Act. The union shall not assist in any strike till after a secret ballot by a four-fifths majority, six weeks’ notice being subsequently given the company. A penalty of £'soo a day is provided The company undertakes not to cease work unnecessarily, and to pay £SOO a day to the union during lock-out^.
