CHARGE AGAINST CASHIER By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright LONDON, December 17. Walter Robson, for many years cashier at the London office of tho Commercial Bank of Australia, was charged at the Police Court with stealing £7OOO in bank notes, tho hank’s property. Counsel for the prosecution stated that accused’s defalcations totalled £7400, of which sum £270 had been returned, and more would possibly bo recovered. Evidence was given that Robson persuaded Mr Wallace, tho manager of the bank, to sign a cheque for £7OOO on the plea that he required it to pay withdrawals by Lionel Robinson. Clarke and Co., who was a largo customer. ■ Robson opened several accounts at other hanks, and paid largo sums to Cora Minnett.
