AMERICAN BANK RESERVES “USED FOR GIGANTIC GAMBLING.” By Telegraph— Prei» Association—Copyright (Received November 26, 10.20 p.m.) WASHINGTON, November 25. In the Senate, Senator Owen, debating the Currency Bill, said that the hank reserves were largely concentrated in New York, where they were loaned for Stock Exchange speculation. Ho argued in favour of the formation of Federal reserves enabling the banks to withdraw their funds from the Stock Exchange, which had become the moat gigantic gambling establishment in the world.
