Mrs Gussic Washburn, of Lagrande, Georgia, aged seventeen years, considers herself a marriage specialist. She has been engaged twenty-five times, eloped five times, and married twice. She possesses a cart-load of engagement rings, and holds that marriage is illegal if the bride answers “No ” when the clergyman asks the usual questions. Her husband is a farmer aged fortyseven years.
