At 8.40 a.m. yesterday the Union Com pany’s liner Manuka arrived in the stream at Wellington after a delightful passage from Sydney direct. Pratique was granted, and the vessel berthed at No. 1, north (outer tee). Queen’s wharf at 8.40 a.m. The Manuka left Sydney at 1 p.m. on Saturday and experienced fine weather and calm seas throughout the trip. The Manuka is timed to leave Wellington at 8 o'clock to-night for southern ports and Hobart, taking the Mararoa’s run to Lyttelton, as the latter boat pays off at Wellington to-day. The Tyser liner Mare re, en route from Liverpool, loft Hobart on Monday for Auckland. The vessel is expected to reach Wellington next Monday week (November 3rd). The Ngahere, which left Wellington om Tuesday morning for Greymouth, is due back at Wellington to-night. The Ngatoro, which was at Lyttelton yesterday, is to load at Greymouth on Saturday for Wellington. The Union Company’s big collier, Waiternata, with about 5000 tons of coal on board, for Lyttelton and 2500 for Timaru, left Newcastle at 8 o’clock on Friday night last. Sho will be followed by the Kaitangata, which was to leave the New South Wales port yesterday. The Canterbury Company's steamer Petone is due at Wellington on the 30th instant from Lyttelton, and will sail on the same day for Wanganui. Mr G. E. Dqgdale, late of -the Morayshire. joined the Wahine as seventh engineer yesterday.
