TRIAL OF SHACKLETON AND GARLICK. By Telesraph—Press Association— Copyright, LONDON, October 20. The trial of Francis Shackleton (a brother of Sir Ernest Shackleton, and formerly of the Dublin Castle staff) and Thomas Garlick (an accountant) on a charge of conspiring to defraud Miss Josephine Browne of the sum of £12,000, has begun. In her evidence Miss Browne admitted that she had had affection for Shackleton like that of a mother.
