LIONS AT LARGE
PANIC IN LEIPZIG AN EXCITING ALL-NIGHT PURSUIT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright LEIPZIG, October 20. Eight lions escaped from a travelling circus cage, which had collided with a tramcar. The crowd became panicstricken. Ono lion dashed into an hotel and ascended a staircase. The lions belonged to Barnum’a menagerie. The hunt continued throughout the night. Six wero killed after throe hundred shots had been fired. The tamers captured the seventh in an hotel, and the eighth on top of a motor-’bus. Tho damage duo to the hunt is estimated at £SOOO.
