MAGISTRATE'S COURT

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 21. (Before Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M.) Martin Samuelson, a prohibited person, was fined 40s, or seven days’ imprisonment, for drunkenness. Wong Joe was charged with being tho occupier of a common gaminghouse at 131 a, Taranaki street, which was raided by the police on Monday night. Ho was remanded until Hus morning. Bail was allowed in the slm of £SO and one surety of £SO. Arthur Lattont, Ernest Fish, and Bert Vinca were each fined 40s, or seven days’ imprisonment, for being found in a common gaming house at 131 a, Taranaki street. George Edward Westlake was remanded until October 29th on a charge of stealing from the dwelling of Elizabeth Moody articles of jewellery valued at £7 15s, and from tho dwelling of Bridget Moloney jewellery to a total value of £l7 10s. JUVENILE COURT. A youth of foul-teen years was committed to the Weraroa Training Farm for'stealing a bicycle, valued’at £B, the property of Herbert Stanbridge. CIVIL BUSINESS. (Before Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M.) The Wellington Painters’ Union sued John Domney for £1 6s for arrears of subscriptions due as a member of the union. Defendant raised the defence that he had tendered his resignation as a member of the union. After hearing tho evidence, His Worship gave judgment for the plaintiff for the amount claimed and costs. Mr W. Sim appeared for the plaintiff on instructions from Mr D. M. Findlay. Warded Bros, sued Charles Stephen Mulliner for £5 5s for goods supplied. After part of the evidence had been heard, the plaintiff accepted a nonsuit. Mr Sim appeared tor tho plaintiffs, acting on instructions from Mr D. M. Findlay. UNDEFENDED CASES.
