MDLLE GENEE
Amongst the many pretty frocks worn by Mdlle. Genee will be a “butterfly dress.” Tips is an exact reproduction of the colouring and design of the swallow-tailed English butter-fly, and is carried out beautifully, every detail being correct, even to the delicate long antennae worn in her hair. Perhaps one of the questions most frequently asked concerning Adeline Genee is: What size does she take in shoes? the small size of tho great dancer’s feet calling forth this remark. The question was recently put to Mdlle. Genee, who replied: “I really do not know what size my shoes are. As a, matter of fact, I have them made to measure, hut a size larger than necessary, for I like comfort. High-heeled, foot-cramping shoes do not appeal to me a bit. It is a strange fact that the size of my feet has remained the same since I was thirteen years old.” “Is this due to the exercise of dancing?” “ Well, no. I should say it is just nature. If my feet were not made as they are I should probably not be a dancer.”
