Radnor beat Marculfus in an eighf-fn'rlong run on the grass in Imin 54soc, and Wallalo cut out nine furlongs in 2rain Olsoc, the first seven being done in Imin 31scc. Scottish Chief galloped half a milo in 55$sec; Mountain Trincess and Avonwood six furlongs on the grass in Imin 20Jsec; Midnight Sun nine on the sand in 2min Oisec, the last mile in Imin 47sec. Gladwyn wont a mile and a quarter on the gratis, doing the last nine furlongs in 2min 3ssec. Maltravors cov-
ered five furlongs on the sand in Imin ssoc. It transpires that Midnight Sun was badly interfered with in the Caulfield Cup race on Saturday and was never nearer than twelfth. He is not entered for any future events, and will probably go back to New Zealand shortly. Anrifer is well, and his chances for the Melbourne Cup are liked. Hartfell is a trifle sore, but Uncle Sam was improved by his Cup race on Saturday Eubulus is also shaping better. Lord Alwyne is unlikely to start in tho Melbourne Cup. W. H, Smith headed tho list of jockey’s fees at the Cajjlfield meeting, with £l6O 18s. At Flemington, Kildalton did nine furlongs in_ 2min Osec, Effervescence half a mile in 62see, Cock o' tho North and Knrrakai five furlongs in Imin 7seo, Golden Goblet ton furlongs in 2min 21sec. Sanskrit a mile in Imin 49sec, and Berragoon , ton furlongs in 2min 18sec.
