SERIOUS CHARGE

ALLEGED THEFT OF MONEYS. At the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Athol Ambrose MoOaul, clerk in the employ of Messrs Gollin and Co,, Wellington, was charged with the theft of £573 la lid from his employers. Two further charges of theft were preferred against accused—theft : of £43 8s 4d and £ls 12s fid. Chief-Detective Broberg appeared for the police. The evidence showed that the offences were alleged to have taken place on August 13th and July 25tb, 1912. The two latter charges are altentetive to the first charge of the theft of the sum running into three figures. On the application of Chief-Detective Broberg the accused was remanded till June/'"* 1 Bail was allowed in his. own recog ace of £l6O and one surety of £loU.
