The Licensed Victuallers’ Interstate Conference resolved that, in the interests of true temperance, it is desirable that military camp canteens should be restored. (•A few days ago tho following cable message from Melbourne was published:—“A report by the committee of the Presbyterian Assembly protests against the proposed endeavour by military officers to have the camp canteen restored, allegedly because the recent ‘dry’ camps were marked by misconduct such as had disgraced no previous military operations. The report the Defence Department to make thorough inquiries before moving in the matter, as a statement made to the committee by some of the most responsible officers declared that the camps tWI never been more orderly or better oondneted.”]
