STATE RIGHTS
MR HOLMAN COMPARES CONSTITUTIONS. LONDON, April 22. Mr Holman, Now South Wales At-torney-General, was entertained at luncheon at th© City Carlton Club. Mr W. Evans, M.P., presided. Mr Holman, who spoko for thirty minutes, explained the Commonwealth Constitution, and compared it with the American and Canadian. Ho insisted on th© importance of the sovereign powers of tho States, which now offered great opportunities to the highest political talents. When the club entertained Mr Watt. Victorian Premier, they would find that h© also was a strong advocate of State rights. Among those present at the luncheon were Mr Coghlan (Agent-General for New South Wales) and Captain Muirhead Collins (private secretary to the High Commissioner for Australia). The guests, mainly connected with comtmercial and financial interests, numbered 200.
