Both accused pleaded not guilty. ■ Counsel for the prosecution stated that four hundred of Mrs Fulham’s letters have been found. Clark had endorsed each as being answered. Mrs Fulham destroyed all Clark's letters except one. It is now stated that Clark hypnotised her. Mrs Fulham’s letters to Clark between July 21th and July 29th explained that she had administered the powder to her husband in Sanatogon. She urged Clark nob to hurry to free himself of his wife until August, because his elder children might notice his anxiety to become a widower so close cm Mrs Fulham’s regaining her freedom. She asked Clark to send some liquid after disguising the taste. She proposed to administer it in mulligatawny soup. In September Mrs Fulham asked Clark to reconcile himself to his loss of her, as her husband was recovering. Writing in November she said that the happy climax had yet to come. She hoped it would result in their long and happy married life. Clark in October wrote to Mrs Fulham stating that he was unable to repay her for what she had done, lio trusted some day to prove his grateful love through God’s help and biessfwz- ___
