Three German sisters named Dericks were amongst the passengers, and they disappeared. Letters found in the cabin stated that they had agreed to commit suiTho eldest was to administer chloroform to tho ether two, throw tho bodies overboard, and then jump into the sea herself. An empty chloroform bottle was discovered. Tho women left their personal belongings to the captain of tho Van Noort.
