Lucy Weston; who admitted having hosed obscene language, was fined £2 and ordered to pay 4s, witnesses’ expenses. A BORROWED SIDE-CAR. William JenMneon, dyer and cleaner, Wellington, sued Herman Hayman Kahn, Clothier, Wellington, for £3 Os 6d the value of a tyro and inner tube of a side-car alleged to have been damaged through the negligent and unskilful driving by defendant of a motor bicycle to which the side-car was attached. Jenkrnaon had lent the sidecar, to Kahn for a run on the Hutt road. Mr M. F. Luckie appeared for the plaintiff and Mr J. Dickson for defendant* After hearing evidence his Worship gave judgment for the plaintiff fOr £l, with costs 10s and ■ witnesses’ expenses '£l. IV".:. , -PU— , (Before Dr. A. McArthur, S.M.} A HOUSE CONTRACT. Dr. McArthur delivered reserved decision in the case of Arthur Robert Barnes, painter and , paperhanger, v. W. H. Collie, furniture dealer, and Percy Hudson, builder. Plaintiff claimed £46 19s 9d for work done on a house Tbr W. H. Collie at Island Bay, and the defendant Hudson counterclaimed for £2O for alleged non-com-pletion of his . sub-contract by the specified time. Judgment was given' for plaintiff Barnes on the claim (Which 'Was -admitted) end for defendant Hudson for the amount of the counter-claim. At the hearing Mr D. Jackson appeared for plaintiff; Mr Weston for the defendants. CONTRACTORS AT LAW. Edward Ross Sweeney, contractor, Kilbirnie, sued James Scott, : contractor, Ngaio, for £2l Is as the balance due for work done and material furnished in kerbing and channelling. ,Defendant counter-claimed for £l6 8s for Work alleged to have been done and material supplied in completion of the work referred to, and £lO as damages by’ reason of plaintiff’s failure and refusal to complete the -work in accordance with the agreement between the parties. Mr A. M. Salek appeared for the plaintiff and Mr P. W. Jackson- for the defendant. , Decision Was reserved. UNDEFENDED CASES. .
