ROYAL LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The executive of the Royal LifeBaving Society met last evening, Mr Q* 8. Hill presiding; A letter was received from the town Clerk Stating that the City Council had granted permission for charts, explaining the methods of rescuing a drowning person and resuscitation, to be placed Oh corporation properties nearest the beaches. Permission was granted children who had gained a proficiency Certificate, bronze medallion, or high award pf the society to use the baths free of charge for the remainder of the season. A letter was received from the Maratiui Surf and Lifo-savihg Club asking the executive to take Up debentures in the Club. . The issue Was forty debentures at £1 each. With Which it is hoped to meet the liability incurred in the building of the club rooms at Lyall Bay. The debentures bear interest at the rtto of .5 per Cent, pet annum, payable half-yearly, becoming due in three years. It was decided to take Up three debentures. The Schools’ Life-saving Challenge Shield, presented by the Wellington iCentre, was on exhibition.
