FURTHER EXPLORATIONS FINANCED. " OTTAWA, February 23. The Government is financing further explorations in the Arctic regions by Mr Stefansson. One of the objects of Stofanaaou’e. expedition will be to raise (he British flag on many unexplored islands. The American traveller, Mr Stefansson, returned south in the summer of 1912, after completing four years' investigations on the Arctic coasts of Canada, during which he visited a number of tribes of remarkably white Eskimo on the shores of Coronation Gulf and tho interior of Victoria Island.
