MONDAY. FEBRUARY 24. (Before Mr W. Q. Riddell. S.M.) A FIGHT AND AN ESCAPE. ' Charles Armstrong pleaded guiltyto a charge of fighting in Parish- street on it’uppeared that.a constable arrested, accused and the man with whom he was fighting, but the latter escaped from cuaArmstrong, who has been previously before the court for a similar -■offence, was fined 40s. in default seven days. "DEINK HIS TROUBLE.’* Robert Fitton was charged with being a rogue and a vagabond. Ho was found on unoccupied premises In .Parana*l street on Saturday, and at the tune was in a muddled state. ■ , . Mr P. J- O’Began, who appeared for b;™. .stated that the man a employment was still open for him. Drink was his trouble. Fitton was ordered to come •up for sentence when called upon. LIQUOR CASES. For drunkenness John Byrne waa fined 10b, James Hntchieaon Sis, and Lena White ss. , Evelyn Butler was fined 40a, in default seven days, for the breach of a prohibition order. MAINTENANCE. Arthur Harold Smith was sentenced to seven days’ imprisonment for not complying with the terms of a maintenance order; but the warrant was ordered to be suspended so long as 10s a week is paid ofi the arrears. ... Florrio Harris was sentenced to seven days’ imprisonment for tbo disobedience of a maintenance order. Charles Chapman was ordered to pay 3s per week towards the maintenance of bl Jamoa Stafford Adams waa ordered to pay 8s weekly towards the support of his child.
