The annual meeting of the Scottish Society was held last evening, Mr A. B. Thompson presiding The report stated that the membership had increased (fully financial) by G 1 during th© year. Twelve enjoyable functions hnd been held. The balance-sheet showed a credit cash balance of «£76 7d. committee had not lost sight of the object that had been mentioned in previous reports—th© acquiring of a club room They considered that the ca-sh. balance should reach «£ioo before this matter was seriously undertaken. The election of officers resulted : Chief, Mr A. B. Thompson; chieftain, Mr White; treasurer. Mr Ballantyne; sec* retary, Mr W. Allen; auditors, Messrs K. Eeid and Rogers; committee. Messrs W, Gilchrist, J. McLclhui, W, Denham, D. McMillan. J. Collins. A. Eodgers, D. King, Walker; ladies' committee. Meedames Allen, Rogers, Collins, Fletcher, McNaughton, Ballantyne and Herdman. The chairman ((announced that steps had been taken to ensure a supply of badges being obtain k! for members.
