SHOOTING AT THE PRESIDENT. VIENNA, December 18. M. Kovaos has been acquitted on the charge of attempting tbe life of President Tisza, President of the Hungarian Lower Hons©, in Juno last. On June 7th M. Kovace. ono of tho members of the Hungarian Bower House who were, ejected from the chamber during a tumultuous scene which occurred during discussion- on. the Defence Bill, entered the press gallery and fired several revolve! shots at Count Tisza, tho President, but all the bullets missed him. M. Kovncs then attempted to commit suicide. He subsequently stated that ho only wished to frighten tho President into a change of policy.
