MARCONI CONTRACT
TERMS COMPARED WITH OFFER OF POULSEN SYNDICATE.
LONDON, October 29.
In connection with the contract between the British Post Office and the Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company, under which the company undertakes, for the sum of £60,000 each, to erect Imperial wireless stations, Mr C. A. King, C. 8., Secretary to the Post Office, testifying before the Marconi Parliamentary Committee, admitted that the Marconi Company will receive £30,000 annually, while the Poulsen syndicate had offered to construct the stations for £30,000 each, without further cost. The Government, he continned, had not been satisfied that the Poulsen Company would be able to do the work, or it would have accepted the offer. If the Government had waited twelve months the Marconi Company might have made other contracts, preventing the completion of the agreement with Britain.
