A DOUBLE DEAD HEAT From Oar Special Correspondent. LONDON September 21. An event rare in the history of horseracing occurred at Alexandra Park last Saturday, when two horees—Myriad and Tinto, the mounts of F. Wootton and A. Dul or—ran a double dead heat for the Harringay Selling Plate. In the first race, for which. wootton's mount was made favorite. Myriad .nnron;-. ed to bo winning easily, hut a hundred yards from the winning post Duller, on Tinlo, put In a rigorous challenge, and netting np in the last few strides, made a dead-heat of it. The respective trainers could not agree to a division, bo ’atcr the horsce went to the jiost for the deader. In the opinion of the betting fraternity Wootton nad been "caught Dapring in the first race, so backers bhthely laid odd? on Myriad. As in t*-e first race. Wootton’s mount led and looked like winning, but close homo Duller again chai enged. and getting un on the post again made a dead heat of it. After this, a division of the vtakee was agreed to. _ , Many years ago at Sandown Park, Sea Vng twice ran a dead-beat with Deuce o' Clubs. A third race ended in facor of the latter by a neck. There was a remarkable finish to a race at Lewes in IEBO. when Scobbell, ridden by T. Cannon, Wandering Nun (J. Goatcr), and Maznrka (Fordham) dead-heatod for first place In the Ashler Stakes. Barolv two feet behind Cumberland (Archer) and Thom. (Luke) dead-heated for second place.
The Awahou at 8.15 o'clock last craning nassed the Wellington. Heads bound from Foxton to Blackhead.
