The object Is to make ■ new phrase using these Final tetters as Initials. The phrase written by you should bear on the printed phrase in some apt way. You may be humourous, sarcastic, descriptive, or fanciful; and as original as you like. SHOULD PAPER - • READ CONDITIONS: Provision is made for two attempts on •ach coupon for sixpence. Carefully note this. You may either make two attempts on any one of the two phrases or make one attempt on each of them. You may send one only if you do not wish to send two. But you cannot send more than two on one coupon. This must be clearly understood.

If only one coupon Is sent the sixpence can bo remitted m stamps, but If more than one coupon be sent, Postal Notes must be enclosed at the rate of 6d per coupon.

Stamps must not bo used where the amount Is more than sixpence. Only Postal Notes.

The number of the Postal Note mast be written in the space marked for It In the Coupon.

“The New Zealand Times” guarantees the amount of prize-money for this competition, and in consideration, reserves the right, should the amount be exceeded, to retain the difference towards expenses.

The Editor cannot hold himself liable In respoct of any entry where coupons or remittances are delayed or lost in transit.

Competitors must send in their attempts so as to reach "The New Zealand Timas" Office not later than Bth November, 1812.

Results will be published In "The New Zealand Times" on the following Saturday, loth November.
