NEW YORK, October 25. A stranger attempted to enter Colonel Roosevelt’s home at Oyster Bay. but was forcibly rejected. The Colonel is receiving many threatening and a special police guard is now provided for him. A SUIT FOR LIBEL. (Received October 27, 6.6 p.m.) NEW YORK, October 25. Colonel Roosevelt is suing George Newell, editor of a small daily paper at Ishpenung, Michigan, claiming damages for alleged libel in an article published by Newell accusing Colonel Roosevelt of intemperance in language and liquor.
