ASSAULT ON SCUTARI

MONTENEGRINS PREPARE FOE FINAL ACTION. LONDON, October 25. Telegrams from Cettinje state that the bombardment of Tarabosch (the key to Scutari) continues. General Martino vies has captured tho heights of Shiroka, a new point from whence ho can shell Tarabosch. Another message says that the Montenegrins havo surrounded Scutari, and after a bombardment lasting a quarter of an hour, in which but small damage was done, envoys proceeded to the town to demand its surrender. The infantry quitted , their entrenchments and advanced on Scutari till a withering Turkish fire checked them. A shell fell within ten yards of tie Corwn Prince.

In the event of the envoys' mission failing, preparations are being made to attack the town on three sides. The population is in a state of panic.

REPORTED TURKISH RETREAT.

VIENNA, October 25.

A portion of the defenders of Scutari was withdrawing to Zabrina Heights, to the southward, but was interrupted. The Turks are now preparing to retreat. The Montenegrins have silenced three batteries at Tarabosch.
