AN IMPUDENT THEFT
DENTIST LOSES HIS CASH BOX. Press Association. AUCKLAND, October 84. Numerous impudent thefts have occurred lately, and to-day a cash-box on the promises of Air fountain, dentist, was daringly lilted. The lady attendant was making up accounts in the dressing-room, having beside her at the table an open oosh-oox. A screen and the door hid the table from observation from the corridor. Tho young lady bad occasion to go to one of the other rooms of the office suite, and round the corner in tho corridor she met a man waiting, and in answer to the usual question as to whether he wanted to see anyone, ho replied. "I'm just waiting lor my friend, who is with tho dentist."
The young lady went on, and a moment or two ialor returned to the dressingroom, when she met another man just coming out of the room. She questioned Ids right to be there, and ho replied that ho wanted to see the dentist. tide asked him to wait In the waiting-room, and ho complied, but she observed him immediately after join the otlier man in the corridor and go oil with him. At tiiat umo she missed the cash-box. from the dressing-room table. The men* were not caught.
