JOHNSONVILLE WEDDING

At St. John’s Church, Johnsonville, on Wednesday afternoon. Miss Alma Annie Pattle, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Pattle, “Uralla,” Johnsonville, was married to Mr James Walter Nairn, son of Mr and Mrs J. Naim, sen., Khandallah. The church had been decorated with flowers and foliage by girl friends of the bride; and the service was a fully choral one, the Rev. R. F. Petrio officiating. In spito of the inclemency of the weather, over a hundred guests were present. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in white charmeuse and ninon, with wreath and veil. The bridesmaids were the Misses Dorothy (chief) and Edna Pattle (sisters of the bride), and the Misses Elsie Clark and Doris Tayler (nieces of the bridegroom). Mr Cecil Nairn (brother of the bridegroom) was best man, and Air J. H. Chapman groomsman. After the ceremony the guests were received by the bride’s parents at “Uralla.” A feature of the occasion was the presence of Captain C. P. Rogers and a number of members of the First New Zealand Contingent (South Africa, 1593-1901), in which corps tho bridegroom bad served. Captain Rogers, in proposing tho health of the bridesmaids, referred to tho sohljerly qualities of the bridegroom and the esteem in which ho had always botn held by his comrades. Later on in the afternoon Mr and Airs J. AY, Naira left on their honeymoon, which is to bo spent in the north. Their future homo will be at “Ridgclands,” Alakino. Among, the presents received was a handsome silver tea-pot,' suitably inscribed, presented to tho bridegroom by his old comrades.
