MB ROBERT BABB. LONDON, October 22. Mh Robert Barr, the .well-known novelist, is dead. Mr Barr was a native of Glasgow, but spent bis early years in Oanada, where he was engaged for some time as a school teacher. He then engaged In journalism at Detroit, and in 1881, with Jerome K. Jerome, founded tho "Idler" magazine. Ho has written many novels, Including "In a Steamer Chair/’ "A Woman Intervenes." "From Whose Bourn,’’ "The Paco and the Mask," "The Unchanging Bast,” "The Victors.'* "The Strong Arm," "Cardillac," and "The Sword Maker,” tho last appearing iu 1910.
