A NATIONAL DANGER
PRESENCE OF ABDUL HAMID IN STAMBOUL. (Received October 21, 10.40 p.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, October 21. Abdul Hamid, the ex-Sultan, who since his deposition has been confined in a palace near Salonica, will be housed in future in the palace where his brother Mourad V. (whom ho succeeded) was long imprisoned after his insanity was proved. The “tanin” newsparer violently attacks the Government for transferring Abdul Hamid at the present time, declaring that ho constitutes a national danger.

retary to tho Treasury, made a strong anti-Turkish speech at Bethnal Green. He said if Britain had another opportunity of intervention she must not, as in 1878, put her money on the wrong horso. RESERVISTS RETURNING. ATHENS, October 20. The Pan-Hellenic Union has collected half a million drachmae (£20,000) to enable the transportation of 6600 American reservists, who are too poor to return otherwise. Two thousand are paying thoir own fares. CAIRO, October 20. Ten thousand Greek i reservists and volunteers have left Egypt for Piraeus. VANCOUVER, October 20. Hundreds of Greek and Montenegrin reservists are leaving the United States and Canda to participate in the war. Large sums have been raised in their native countries to aid their return. RED CROSS WORKERS. Drs Goldsmith and Bradford (Australians) leave to-night with the second Red Cross unit for Montenegro. Sir Ernest Cassel is defraying the cost' of three Red Cross units for Turkey. TELEGRAPH NOTICES Berne advises: "Telegraphic communication by the neighboring routes with Bulgaria. Greece, Montenegro, and Serviaare interrupted. Private telegrams for Crete must be written in Greek, French, English, Italian, or German. Telegrams written in other languages are stepped on arrival." Berne also notifies; "The Bulgarian Administration notify that as a result of the war telegraphic communications between Bulgaria and Turkey axo suspended.’’
