ROYAL PRINCE'S BAPTISM OF FIRE

Tho troops commanded by tlio Crown Prince of Greece, after four hours’ fighting, dislodged the Turks from Elassona, in Thessaly, on the western slope of Mount Olympus. Tho troops showed great dash. Tho heights behind Elassona were held by 6000 Turks, with seven siege guns. They were attacked by five Greek divisions, after a preliminary artillery duel, tho now Schneider guns ol the Greeks doing great havoc. At 2 o’clock tho Crown Princo ordered tho first division to charge with the bayonet. Tho Turks made a desperate resistance, but the Greek cavalry completed their discomfiture. Meunwnile tne second Greek division was clearing tho hills to the east and threatening to out off tho retreat ol the Tories, who withdrew along tho road to Serviya, about twenty miles nortu of Elassona, leaving eighty prisoners and seven guns. Tho Crown Prince’s eldest son received his baptism of tire. The Turks retreated to tho Stone Gates, a heavily fortified defile. Two Greek battalions and two batteries have occupied tho hoigths of Grimbooa, in Epirus, west of Thessaly.
