PAHIATUA, August 5. , The exceptionally high prices ruling for checso in the Home markets during the past season have proved very remunerative to co-operative cheese companies in this district. Tile annual report of the Mangaramarama Company shows that tho amount of cheese manufactured curing tnu •1911-12 season was approximately 73 tons, valued at £4157 16s Id. lu the previous season 88 tons were produced, realising £4341 18s 6d. Thus it will be seen that although last season’s output was 15 tons less than tho previous year’s total the cheese re alised only £lB4 2s 5d less. In the case of the Mangatalnoka Company last season's output totalled 207 tons, as oampared with 161 tons for the previous season, an increase of 46 tons. The actual monetary increase, however, has been much greater, the total . for 1911-12 being £11,066 10s as compared with £7857 Is Id for 1910-11 —an increase of £3239 8s 3d. For tho 1910-11 period the price paid for butter-fat was 113 d per lb; last season Is lid per lb was paid.
