FIRES IN SYDNEY

A fire partially destroyed the Columbia Buildings in York street, occupied iy several tenants. The damage is estimated at between .£6OOO and .£BOOO.
The hearing of the appeal in the Vend case has been postponed for a fortnight. (Received August 6. 1.10 a.m) SYDNEY. August 5.
A fire started late to-night in Samuel Brothers’ clothing factory, in Kent street, and is now (11 p.m.) threatening to spread.
