■Replying to a deputation from Sprey. don (Christchurch), asking for a subsidy towards the acquisition of a recreation ground, the Prime Minister (Hon. W. F, Massey) stated yesterday that the people were no doubt doing the right thing in endeavouring to provide a recreation ground for themselves It had 1 been the policy of the past Administration to assist those who were ready to help themselves, and that policy would not be departed from. (Hear, hear. ) Ho promised to lay their representation before Cabinet. Mr H, G. Ell introduced the deputation.
