1 The Moutere Fruit Growers' AssociaI tion, represented by Messrs G. L. Tacon 1 and L. .Morrissey, applied to the Minister for Public Works yesterday to have two sections of roads in their districtformed and metalled. They said the roads were necessary to serve the recent-ly-settled fruit crowing areas. The sum involved was about ,f&100 in all. The fruitgrowers were willing to rate themselves, but the local body was slow to impose rates and slow to do the work. The Minister said it was scarcely likely that the Government would authorise the expenditure of money which the settlers ought to find themselves. There were other places which wore in worse plight. Ho would, however, consider their representations.
