WHANGARAU BLOCK
PBEB3 ASSOCIATION. HAMILTON, August 5. Considerable disappointment is e» pressed here at the fact that the lato Government did not purchase the \V hangarau block of so mo 9000 acres when the opportunity recently offered. It i& common gossip that the Land Purchase Board visited and reported on the block, but nothing was done. ' Mr J- McCow and a number of other settlers urged its purchase upon the Government, through the then member, some seven or eight years ago, and now it has been left to private enterprise to settle the block. This is one of tho finest unoccupied blocks in the Waikato, and if the new owners cut it up into small areas it will be readily taken up.
