. Looking sturdy and efficient. the contingent of cadets who are shortly leaving for Canada paraded yesterday on the tennis court behind Parliament Buildings. Interested spectators of their evolutions were a number of Parliamentarians, members of the conference on local government. General Godley, and Colonel Heard. Drill movements and military exercises were shown, the squad being commanded by Captain Fullerton, while the manoeuvres were made under direction of Sergeant-Major Parkes. The general condition of the cadets bore convincing testimoney to the thorough training they had received at Trentham. The Minister of Defence (Hon. J. Allen), in a brief valedictory, expressed the hope that every boy would come back better and with a broadened outlook. He wished the lads good luck and trusted that when they returned it would be in the belief that this country was as good a place to live in as any other part of the world. The lads were given three hearty cheers.
