DIFFICULTIES AHEAD IN AUSTRALIA. MELBOURNE, July 31. Victorian Cadets to the number of 6296 are liable to prosecution for not undergoing their compulsory training. The Commonwealth, it is stated, is faced with the task of prosecuting 20,000 boys, who are liable to a fine of £3 each. Senator Pearce, Minister for Det fence, has agreed to reduce the fine to 2s for each hour of drill evaded.
