TRAM FATALITY
ANOTHER CONDUCTOR KILLED FALL FROM PALACE CAR FOOTBOARD. Another tram accident attended with fatal result occurred at 5 o'clock last evening, Ambrose McKay, a conductor, falling off the footboard of a car of tho palace type in Manners street and frao tuning his skull.
The car, No. 42, driven by Motormon M. Howard, was proceeding to Newtown at the time, and was approaching tho Opera House stop at the usual rate of speed. Nobody appears to have actually seen the accident, but it seems that Me- ■ Kay had only set out to collect the fares when he fell from the footboard. Dr Pollen was summoned, and after rendering attention ordered tho unfortunate man’s remgval to the hospital, whore ho died at a quarter to 10 p.m. Deceased had been in tho service only a month. Mrs McKay is in a delicate state of health. It is understood that she gave birth to a child last evening. An inquest will be held.
