MEDICAL ASSOCIATION SUSPENDS NEGOTIATIONS. LONDON, July 23. The British Medical Association at Live'-pooi approved tho rupture of negotiations • with the Government over the Insurance Act; and also that no members should serve on tho advisory committees in England and Ireland. PASSIVE RESISTERS. DOCTOR DECLARES ACT GIGANTIC FRAUD. (Received July 24, 11.45 p.m.) LONDON, July 24. Thousands of farmers aro maintaining an attitude of “ passive resistance” to tho Insurance Act. Sir James Barr, president-elect of the British Medical Association, addressing the association at Liverpool, described tho Insurance Bill as the most gigantic fraud since the South Sea Bubble ” (which was exploded m 1720, thousands of families being ruined). An invitation was given to tho association to meet in New Zealand in XJI4.
