Sheahan received a letter this morning, dated Loudon, Juno 13th, from “Dick" Arnst, tho champion sculler, who says referring to his match with Barry: “You can rest assured I will not bo. far away when it comes to the finish of tho race. lam certainly going to wear; the silver fern, for it Han always seen'me home to victory. lam getting into real good form, and have i only about alb io take off, and still six weeks to go; so'l ought to bo fit. 1 have worked hard since arriving in England, :. and have had beautiful weather. It wart • no trouble to get weight off. There i« - very little betting on the race, but inwhat there is I am favorite. 1 did. a > satisfactory trial a week ago over a mile and three-quarters, and when properly dvDiiiid up should have a real good chance. Tho climate suits me all right, - and I like tho river, although there is » » fairly strong current and it is .hit choppy at times. I intend returning homo through America, so will call at Auckland. lam at present trying to get a match with Durnan on my way through, and hope to bo successful."
