Mrs Richards had been deeply impressed by the cordial welcome that had bden extended to, them, not only by .their own officers but by the whole of the people of New Zealand. This .made their coming to New Zealand quite a pleasure, and was appreciated very keenly as a tribute to, “the great concern.” Commissioner Richards told his interviewer that he recognised the evidence of the splendid work that had been done by the Army‘in .this. country, l and he could build on the solid foundations that had been laid.
