The prospectus of the Now Zealand loan has been favourably received. Bonds are quoted at from par to i per cent, premium, and are estimated to yield investors 80s Sd per cent. The principal is repayable at par on July Ist 1914. . , The “Financial Times” says theyiold is good for a security of this class, and no doubt tho public will appreciate an opportunity which is seldom given to subscribe to a short-dated loan of this character. MINISTERS RETICENT. Referring to the London cable armouno iug the issue of .£1.000,000 worth of New Zealand bonds, the Prime Minister stated on Saturday that he considered it inadvisable at tho present moment to say what jras being- done, but ho would take tho public into his confidence at tho earliest possible opportunity. Myers, Minister of Finance, questioned with regard to tho cable which reported tho raising of. tho New Zealand loan in London, declined either to confirm or deny its accuracy.
