A SIGNIFICANT RUMOUR RUSSIA WARNED OF DANGER FROM TRIPLE ALLIANCE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received. Juno 9, 0.0 p.m.) LONDON, June S. “The Times” St. Petersburg correspondent reports that a well-defined rumour is current that Italy will shortly cede one of the Aegean Islands to Germany. The “ Novoo Vremya ” foresees the tardy awakening of Turkey to the real character of her alleged friends, and intimates that Russia is playing a dangerous game in espousing the cause of the Triple Alliance.

BIG BATTLE EXPECTED. TURKEY CONCENTRATES TROOPS ON SMYRNA. CONSTANTINOPLE, Juno 8. Turkey is concentrating 40,000 troops on Smyrna, in expectation of joint military and naval action on a large scale along the Asiatic coasts of the Aegean Sea. It is believed an Italian descent on the coast of Anatolia is probable. • IN CYRENAICA. ITALIAN AIRSHIP DROPS BOMBS ON THE TURKS. ROME, Juno 7. An Italian dirigible at Benghazi dropped bombs, which exploded in the Turkish camp. SHARP RIGHTING REPORTED. ITALIAN SUCCESSES AT ZANZUR AND HOMS. (Received June 10, 0.10 a.m.) ROME, Juno 9. Fourteen battalions, with artillery and cavalry, quitted Zanzur _ and seized the Zanzur oasis, after driving the Turks out of the hills to the southward at the point of the bayonet. A sharp fight occurred also on the western edge of the oasis. The Turks wore expelled and pursued. A five hours’ engagement is reported from Homs. Five hundred Turks' attacked El Marghob redoubts, but were subjected to a heavy rifle and artillery fire and routed, suffering considerable losses.
