LONDON TAILORS’ STRIKES

DEMANDS OF THE EAST END WORKERS.

LONDON, May 14. The tailoring trouble in the West End is coming to an end. The tailors and tailoresses are gradually returning to work. In the East End, where over 15,000 men and women went out, the position is not so hopeful. The East Binders demand nine hours a day, less one hour and a-half for meal times, day work instead of piece work, and improved workshop accommodation. The officials of the Amalgamated Society of Tailors and Tailoresses adhere to their refusal to countenance tho strike as being determined upon contrary to the union rules and therefore undeserving of financial support.
