NEW POLITICAL BODY

PROGRESSIVE ORGANISATION TO BE FORMED. SPECIAL TO THE "TIMES.” CHRISTCHURCH, May 15. A meeting of about fifty persons was held here to consider the advisability of forming a new progressive political organisation. The meeting was convened by circular, signed by Messrs W. W. Tanner, J. McCombs, and H. Cole. After a lengthy discussion a committee of eleven was formed to draft a platform, and it was decided to call a meeting to form an association. It was suggested that the scope of the organisation should include both municipal and general politics.
