PEOil OUE OWN CORRESPONDENT. : December 8. At the local police court to-day a young man, named A.K. Kerr was fined, £l' for disorderly behaviour, provoking a breach of the peace last 1 evening by becoming intoxicated and wishing to fight all and sundry. When at the cells he smashed a bucket, and for his pains was ordered by a stem bench to pay 15s damages. Application was made for a--prohibition order against Charles E arrow, and after evidence had been given by William McKegg, Herbert Garment, and Constable Satherlcy in support. was granted.
While Mr Wright was driving a young lady f (a sister to 'Mrs W. ; Booth) to the polling booth yesterday, a bolt became detached from life shaft, which fell to ' the ground and broke.’ The horse became alarmed - and uncontrollable, and capsized the occupants over an embankment Bot’i were conveyed to the hospital, suffering from shock and abrasions, but are now doing well, Wright already being discharged. A gig with three male occupants also capsized, but no one was injured.
