A meeting of the Society for the Protection of Women and Children was held yesterday afternoon, Mrs W, A. Evans; president, iri the chair, and there were also present Mesdames J. Kixkoaldio, Glover. G. Ponsonby, J. Glasson* and Miss Browp; Numerous cases that had been investigated were reported • on, and in one' instance maintenance bad been obtained, ■. The fob lowing subscriptions were received:—Mrs Wall 10s,, Miss Richmond 7s 6d/ Mfe J. D. Ritchie, Mrs J; AI. Richardson, Mrs A. : Anderson, Mrs Brice, and Mr E. Anderson 5s each. /
