ELECTION RESULTS
PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLIC DETAILS OF VOTING THIS EVENING. To-night tho results of the Parliamentary anti licensing poll's will be shown in front of the “New Zealand Times” office. The result board has been planned to indicate every constituency and detail in bold typo, easily readable at a distance. A now feature of the display will bo tho groups of coloured lights above the board, showing at a glance tho relative strength of the parties as the returns come to hand. A white light will bo switched on for each Liberal member returned; while red nail represent the Opposition; blue tho Independents; and green the Labour members returned. For tho convenience of suburban residents the “New Zealand Times will display tho results at Hr W. B. P. Pcrrott’s (chemist’s shop), Hiddiford street, Newtown, and also at Pctone in conjunction with the '‘Chronicle.” Thus there will bo no need for residents of Wellington South and the Hutt Valley to come to the city in order to learn tho progress of tho elections. Wo must ask the public not to make inquiry at this office by telephone. No inquiry made in this way will be answered since the telephones will be urgently required by the staff. In addition we must ask the public to refrain from seeking admission to the “news” offices. Candidates—tho winners, the vanquished and those left in a state of suspense—will bo willingly given an opportunity to address the public from the “Times" balcony after the.result of the polling in ■which they are personally interested is known.
