WANGANUI NOTES

(By Eileen),

On Thursday .evening a number of townspeople drove out to the Jubilee Home, the evening being given to celebrate the purchase of the hew piano for the old folks. A musical programme was arranged, and afterwards a dance was held.

Many readers will bo sorry to hear of the death of Mrs Hoey, who was head mistress of the Wanganui Infants’ School for very many years. She has mothered half our town when, as little ones, they went to her school, and has passed away honoured and beloved by hundreds of men and women. Her death will be read of with regret all over the Dominion. The death took place on Sunday, and interment is private.
